Comments: The other day, I went to the AT&T store and checked out these headphones. They look pretty slick in black or red. Unfortunately, the headsets were not charged so I was not able to try out the sound quality. Even better that is can be used as a headset with a bluetooth compatible phone. Since they’ll arrive in a few days, I’ll test drive they with music and both a review in a few days.

Sprint Ambassador Program Update – Pandora Radio

Man! Sprint has recently been pretty active at sending out emails from the Ambassador Program. Props to the Program Manager over there at Sprint — you’re doing a great job at engaging the members!

Did you know that you can download and listen to Pandora radio on your handset? Create custom stations and discover new music!How do I access Pandora?
From the phone menu, go to Web and type “Pandora” in the search box. Select ‘Pandora’ then click ‘OK’. Once Pandora is downloaded, select ‘Run’ and you will be prompted to set up a username and password, after which you will have access to Pandora.Once you have downloaded this application, you can access it from your phone menu by going to My Content >Applications >Pandora.

Pandora and Sprint hooked up back in May, 2007 to offer the Internet radio service for mobile customers.

Comments: I tried using it a couple of times and it worked pretty well. A few times I had trouble connecting as a result of a timeout error. Not sure who’s at fault, but as I am a user on the web when at work, it’s nice to know that I can get Pandora on the go!

Connecting My Blog

A friend of mine passed me this website (Touchgraph) which builds data visualization tools. Under the Products section, there is a link to see how you can visualize concepts, tags, relationships or specific URLs using Google, Amazon and even Facebook. So I tried putting in the URL for my blog and this is what I ended up with:

Click to enlarge One note that caught my attention, is a few of the sites that I reference and wrote about in one of my blog posts show up as a large circle, such as Iamota and Lumitrend. My guess is that it these corporate sites rank pretty highly in Google. Looking a little closer, I find it odd that much more well known destinations on the web, such as CNet, Nokia, Wikipedia, and Yahoo are smaller circles. Finally, I guess the fact that my blog has lots of links to other pages within my blog is the reason why there are so many circles labeled “Mobileslate.”Thanks David for the site.

New template for Mobileslate

Well, after 2 years of the same template, I thought that I should change it up a little. While the old layout was good, some of the newer features like widgets, dynamic width, and adding a tag cloud make it difficult to adopt new bits to enhance the blog. So far, I am about 95% happy with this new look, still trying to tinker with it some.

Comments: I spent over 20 minutes trying to find Madden NFL 08 and NASCAR 07 to download it. I tried both navigating according to the instructions as well as using their search platform. No luck. Well, I’m sure the two next games are exciting and hours of fun, but alas, the catalog seems rather unwieldy.

Guess the weigh of the short tail, long tail seems to be impeding progress. Maybe sending me a text to the device and a WAP push link might help my buying process.

Sprint Ambassador Program Update – Video

Sprint now has ABC network content. Below is the email from their Program. While the device I’ve been using the Samsung Upstage is a sleek device, the small screen could be a bit larger to watch those shows.

We wanted to get the word out that you can watch full-length episodes of your favorite ABC programs the day after they air on your Sprint phone. Offerings include titles such as Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty and Lost.

How do I get to this?
From the phone menu, go to Sprint TV. Once you are in Sprint TV, scroll down to the ABC Mobile channel to check it out.

Comments: The quality is not bad for streaming video on EVDO. The small screen size probably helps in terms of the sustained data stream that needs to be allocated.
