Samsung KatalystHere are the instructions send from T-Mobile USA regarding the Subsidy unlock of the Samsung Katalyst T739:

Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. Below you will see the Instructions for unlocking your Samsung device. For Unlock code you will enter the 8 digit code that we have provided you.

Enter: #7465625*638*Unlock Code#

NOTE: Network Personalization Cancelled should display once unlocked. “Not Yet Personalized” will be displayed if it has already been unlocked.

It is very important that the instructions are entered correctly as listed. If you receive an error message while performing the instructions do not make any further attempts to unlock the handset. Please be aware that if an excessive amount of incorrect attempts are made, the phone will be permanently locked. You will need to verify the IMEI by pressing *#06# and contact Customer Care for support.

    Is there a way to remove the "t-zone" menu from Samsung SGH-T739? so i can access a different wi-fi router. i think it's allowed only to use the t-zone wi-fi. the phone is already unlocked and with a prepaid sim (non-t-mobile).

    Albert: Yes, you need to go into the Shortcut Key settings and Customize the buttons.

    My Samsung Katalyst T739 wi fi will not work with my wireless ruter,
    can someone tell if it has been lock to a t-mobile network only. or anyway out?
  • John Akin: Perhaps you need to know the security key (WEP) to be able to access the WiFi Access Point. If you have WEP enabled, you may want to check what level the mobile device can handle.

    Thx Eric, I called Tmobile and they had me try the code again and it worked. I must have put it in wrong, that was a close one on my 4th or 5th try!
  • Cman: Does the device not boot if you put in another SIM card?

    Using a T-Mobile SIM is recommended. The Unlock Code should be 8 digits.

    Also, did you double-check the IMEI number given to T-Mobile? If the IMEI doesn't match, you might be an incorrect Unlock Code.

    Lastly, I believe if you make more than 5 attempts the device might be permanently locked.

    I got a code from t-mobile and it didnt work. I have tried other codes from the net also. I have tried 4 times! I think it may permanently lock! Is there a way to undo this? I have been trying with the tmobile sim, is this why it isn't working? Do I have to put a different sim in first?
  • Zinab: I am assuming that the FaveFive feature is software. It should still be available using the new SIM card that you install. If the contact list for your phone is being read from the SIM card instead of the device, your might want to copy your Address Book from the SIM card to the device. You can do this inside the Address Book, it will be one of the menu options..

    thank you but i have one more quesion. do u know it if i unlock it outside of tmobile will my favefive be messed up or any other features in the phone
  • Zinab: There are several online sites and perhaps where you live there might be a physical store where you can go to unlock your device. I don't know where you are located so I cannot recommend a place where I have experience with unlocking the device.

    I already tried calling them up but they wont, because i only have been with them for 60 days and not 90 days and i am traveling next saturday. so i really need this if you can help me. or if u know if i do it outside of the company with that mess up my phone?

    If you have been with T-Mobile for more than 6 months, they will allow you to unlock the device. You can also call them up and let them know that you will be traveling internationally and will need the phone unlocked.

    The only other way for T-Mobile to provide the unlock code is if you purchased the device at full retail price and can prove it with a receipt.
