EVENT: Mobile Monday Silicon Valley June 2009 – LBS Applications

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Mobile MondayTonight I attended the Mobile Monday Silicon Valley monthly event. The venue was really nice and they even had quite a few corporate sponsors: AT&T devcentral and Skyhook Wireless. Not sure if this is a good sign that it’s going upscale, things have changed a lot since the last MoMo in the Valley that I’ve been to. This time it also focused on LBS Applications, man there were a lot of presentations! The other great thing about tonight was that I was able to catch up with a lot of folks in the mobile industry whom I have not seen in months.

Pixsense Accelerates Mobile UGC

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

PixsenseYesterday, I had a briefing with Paul Singh, CEO of PixSense. For those who don’t know much about PixSense, here is a short description. PixSense’s PSP Platform delivers a rich, intuitive interface to allow users to easily and rapidly preserve, share and publish media captured on their mobile phones. “…consider social networking sites: At a very basic level, it’s a combination of an address book, e-mail and the users’ media. Every mobile phone has a very potent address book. That, coupled with the users’ mobile media and text messaging capabilities indicates that social networking should dominate the mobile environment…”
