fitterhappy: Yes, you need to be firm in your request. After you unlock the device it will not work with Verizon since they use a different radio technology than AT&T. The only option in the United States is to use it with T-Mobile.

vontastic: Cricket Wireless and AT&T do not use the same radio technology – you will not be able to use the LG Vu on the Cricket network.

victoriaduh: The T-Mobile Sidekick service will not work with AT&T. You will only be able to make phone calls and text messages.

yasiscool: Yes, calling AT&T Customer Service is free. They might ask you a lot of questions, but make sure you ask for the “Subsidy Unlock Code” Once the device is unlocked, you can put almost any SIM card in. You may still need to configure the device if you plan on using picture messaging or Internet on this phone.

Roger Polanco: All you need to do to upgrade the SIM card is to go into the AT&T Retail Store and ask for upgrade. They will do this at no cost to you. If they charge, that doesn't make any sense.
